This is a gorgeous piece from a company that has gotten a lot of love as of late. All of that love is well-deserved because Grand Seiko seems to be doing everything right. Everything starts with the dials. It is impossible for me to capture the beauty of this dial given my limited skill with a camera…it must be held to be truly appreciated. Also, the finishing of every element is executed to the highest level. The hour markers and hands on this one are particularly well done. The spring drive movement (9R66) is a miracle of modern engineering, as well. It has a 72 hour power reserve and combines the motive force of a mainspring with the high precision of a quartz movement. Since this GMT is part of the Sport line of GS’s, it has a plethora of beautiful lume and a solid ceramic bezel. All of this beauty and technology is housed in a perfectly-sized case. It is 40.5mm in diameter and 14.7mm thick. It has just enough heft to let you know its there and solid but is not like some of Seiko’s oversized behemoths that are big for big sake.
