This is a beautiful example of what may be the perfect daily-wearer. This Rolex 16610 (the last submariner date reference with an aluminum bezel insert) is the best of both worlds. It has a lot of the visual charm of a vintage piece but is a solid performer that you can wear in any situation. These Subs feature a transitional “Swiss Only” dial which were only produced for about one year at the end of the 20th century. The hands and hour markers are filled with Luminova which Rolex used only briefly as they transitioned from Tritium to Super Luminova. The relative rarity of these dials make them quite sought after in the marketplace. This one comes from the original owner who purchased the watch new in Alaska. It is very much a full set including double boxes, papers, hang tags, books, and the original hand-written purchase receipt. The case appears unpolished and the bezel insert, dial, and bracelet are all in excellent vintage condition. If you are looking for a wearable piece of Rolex history, look no further than this.
