This is a killer example of the original Explorer II to display a second time zone. The 16550 was a true sport watch and (in my opinion) that is best expressed with the black dial. Speaking of the dial, this one is showing some interesting aging throughout most of the dial and the plots have a lovely, warm creamy patina. If you want a fantastic vintage Rolex that marches to the beat of a different drummer, look no further than this one. You can wear it anywhere and likely won’t spot another one like it at the cocktail party or swap meet.
