I know this is said more often than it should be, but this Rolex reference is a true icon. The 16760 is so special that it has 2 nicknames! This is the Fat Lady, but it is also (for the more polite) the Sophia Loren. The nicknames are a reaction to the thicker case that was introduced with this reference. Speaking of introductions…this was the first GMT Master II; it featured the first ever coke bezel; and the individually-adjustable hour hand also debuted with this one. All of that coupled with a relatively short production run of six years makes this a very desirable piece.

This particular example is a 9.6 mil serial number which dates it to 1987. It is in excellent vintage condition featuring a beautiful holes case with thick and even lugs and a gorgeous dial with very nice patina on the markers and hands. The only issue is that the GMT hand lost its lume along the way. I believe that this would be an easy fix for someone with a talent for color-matching. The 78360 bracelet is believed to be original to the watch based upon the clasp code and it is nice and tight and it has 501 end links.
